Her most-known roles are [Medea](https://anilist.co/character/3440/) in [Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works](anilist.co/anime/19603/), [Motoko Kusanagi](https://anilist.co/character/1795/) in the [Ghost in the Shell](https://anilist.co/anime/43/) franchise, [Lisa Lisa](https://anilist.co/character/21960/) in [JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure](https://anilist.co/anime/14719/) and [Konan](https://anilist.co/character/3179/) in [Naruto: Shippuden](https://anilist.co/anime/1735/). In video games, she voiced title characters Lara Croft in the Japanese dub of the Tomb Raider games, Bayonetta in the Bayonetta: Bloody Fate film adaptation and Bayonetta 2 and Kyrie Ushiromiya from Umineko no Naku Koro ni. She attended the Tokyo Announcement Academy where she studied voice training in 1991. In 2012, a Biglobe poll named her the voice actress with the sexiest voice. Tanaka was married and had a sister.
