He is a fan of simple and refreshing love stories. As a director he's known for modifying original stories a lot, which has brought him substantial amounts of critique. He is quite infamous for his work as the director of the [Tsukihime](https://anilist.co/anime/169/) adaptation, with most fans disapproving of his changes from the original visual novel. Amongst his most notable directorial works are [Yomigaeru Sora: Rescue Wings](https://anilist.co/anime/798/) and [Flying Witch](https://anilist.co/anime/21284/).
