In 1982, he debuted as an art director on [Tonde Mon Pe](https://anilist.co/anime/6730/), and soon after that he left Kobayashi Production and took part in the founding of Studio Fuga with [Hiromasa Ogura](https://anilist.co/staff/105312/) and [Toshiharu Mizutani](https://anilist.co/staff/121908/). Later became, and is the current representative director of the studio.
