Umi ga Kikoeru
Ocean Waves is high school love story set in Kochi, Japan. Morisaki Taku and Matsuno Yutaka are best friends when a girl from Tokyo named Muto Rikako transfers to their school. Excluding herself from group activities, she’s eventually labeled a snob. Matsuno has a crush on Rikako, so it’s no surprise that he gets a little jealous when Morisaki and Rikako start spending more time together. The rumors around school get worse, but Morisaki still insists there is nothing between him and Rikako.

My little odyssey at the time of touring the filmography of the __Studio Ghibli__ officially began 5 days ago, with __Hotaru no Haka__ being the starting point. If I'm being honest, I've rarely felt as excited about a movie as I have felt with these. Each new movie made me feel like the "me" of over…
Read full review on AniList →I love the vibe and the animation of this film. It's exceptional of acting as a time capsule, really capturing that 80s vibe from Japan. And the animation in particular is fantastic. That might sound silly, to praise a Studio Ghibli film for its animation. But given that this is not a "main-line" Gh…
Read full review on AniList →I'm honestly buffled by the fact that this is a ghibli movie. The animation was alright, the main hero and his best friends were nice enough characters, but the girl - Oh.MY.***. From the first interaction she had with the hero, it was made clear that she's completely self centered and and a huge as…
Read full review on AniList →this movie is a slow paced slice of life romance riddled with subtle acting moments. it's told in vignettes of interactions between the two main high schoolers, and truly feels like young stupid children who are either bad at communicating and or extremely selfish, ******* each other over repeatedly…
Read full review on AniList →Out of my own sheer stubbornness, I’ve never been particularly drawn towards Studio Ghibli movies but I recently stumbled across _Umi ga Kikoeru_, which I had honestly never heard of before. I was immediately struck by its poster which, rather than displaying the fantasy elements that the studio is…
Read full review on AniList →"Ocean Waves" is a clever name for a movie that showcases the tumultuous state of life people can have. Of course, it also works well as Kochi is a coastal city! I'll get right into it and talk about the main cast of 3. May contain mild spoilers! Kochi is a small city, and obviously, when someone f…
Read full review on AniList →If I were to ask you who the most famous anime studio in the world was, I have no doubt 100 percent of the vote would be Studio Ghibli. Out of all the animation studios that have entered the hearts of otaku around the world, Ghibli has offered a special kind of magic that can touch your life in a w…
