Synopsis

On August 10th of the year 2010 the Holy Empire of Britannia began a campaign of conquest, its sights set on Japan. Operations were completed in one month thanks to Britannia's deployment of new mobile humanoid armor vehicles dubbed Knightmare Frames. Japan's rights and identity were stripped away, the once proud nation now referred to as Area 11. Its citizens, Elevens, are forced to scratch out a living while the Britannian aristocracy lives comfortably within their settlements. Pockets of resistance appear throughout Area 11, working towards independence for Japan. Lelouch, an exiled Imperial Prince of Britannia posing as a student, finds himself in the heart of the ongoing conflict for the island nation. Through a chance meeting with a mysterious girl named C.C., Lelouch gains his Geass, the power of the king. Now endowed with absolute dominance over any person, Lelouch may finally realize his goal of bringing down Britannia from within! (Source: Bandai Entertainment)

It's hammy, bombastic, melodramatic, and in all ways over the top. Code Geass cranks it up to 11 on all fronts.

Code Geass is a difficult series to review, simply because all of its defining features are things which some consider strengths and others weaknesses. Perhaps this is why there's such a rift in the fanbase, and it's one of those series which everyone seems to either love or hate. SO, I'm going to s…

One of the Best Anime Ever Produced - Brought to You by Fresh Britannia Oranges and Pizza Hut Cheesy Goodness

Forget anime, this is one of the __best television productions__ that I have ever had the pleasure of watching - __period.__ This is the kind of show that you would show to a friend who "doesn't like anime," but also has never bothered giving the best of the genre a fair shot. So, yes, _<insert sa…

The best anime with the best plot I have ever seen.

~~~This is one of those cases where even giving it less than a 100 wouldn't be fair. Code Geass is an anime with a truly remarkable plot, characters, and thematic exploration. Let's take a closer look at each component that led me to give Code Geass a 100 out of 100. Plot: I'd like to say a lot, bu…
Code Geass is a fantastic series which has rightfully become one of the more popular series in the 2000's decade.
Before I start this review, please don't read the description, infact, don't even read this review, there aren't any spoilers, but reading these spoils just _that_ much more of Code Geass. Don't understand the premise, don't even look at the pictures (I guess that can't be helped) don't understand…
An unwieldly artifact of the 2000's without the grace, maturity or focus to cash in on its potential.
NOTE: This review applies only to the first 2 seasons of Code Geass. Introduction: Code Geass takes place in an alternate future, wherein Britannia (Great Britain, except ***** and armed with mecha, basically) has conquered Japan. Lelouch, an exiled Britannian Prince, seeks to topple the Britannian…
In other words, Code Geass firmly belongs to the cream of the crop of Anime and is incredibly complex and emotional.
Code Geass is a magnificent anime that is incredibly psychologically, emotionally, philosophically and politically deep. Lelouch is the best protagonist I have ever seen. He is extremely complex and morally grey as well as highly intelligent and in tune with his emotions. He belongs to the famous a…
My favorite show ever
As is obvious from the summary this is my favorite show so I am biased in a sense. Although I have 0 nostalgia for this show (I didn't watch it til I was about 18-19) the first time I saw it I must admit I was so encapsulated by the show that I saw none of its flaws. So although I have no nostalgia…
a beautiful anime in all seasons
Seriously, this anime is the proven proof that if the script is really good, you don't need to be too original to succeed. And the script is really good! It looks like it came out of Shakespeare's typewriter (although he didn't have one). I believe that Lelouch is one of the protagonists most tortur…
This anime was tear jerking and also insanely surprising, to call it the best anime of all time wouldn't do it justice
Honestly i'm blown away, to think an anime could outsmart even to the levels of death note, this anime was so surprising to the point even now I feel so moved to write a ****** review just because I need to tell everyone, this anime is one of the best, it starts you off with making you dive headfirs…
There are a lot of comparisons you can draw between this and death note, and I think this might actually win. This is RAW cinema. Objectively the most perfect anime ever made. Don't let the old graphics fool you; you won't find anything better.
*Review without spoilers of both season 1 and 2* First of all, I have to say that pls remember this anime is really old and the art is not that good nowadays, and that you have to be patient with this anime, don't drop it after 2-4 episodes, cause this anime is stupidly good. After years and hundre…
Una tragedia estratégica sobre poder absoluto, sacrificio y la caída consciente de un héroe.
Code Geass es una tragedia estratégica vestida de anime. Una obra que entiende el poder no como una herramienta de justicia, sino como una carga que corrompe, aísla y destruye. Es una historia sobre decisiones irreversibles, sobre la línea difusa entre el héroe y el tirano, y sobre cómo la inteligen…
Drama, mecas, buenos personajes... y un poquito de fanservice.
Esta vez tocó darle rewatch a uno de los primeros animes que vi hace ya bastantes años, y me llevé una muy grata sorpresa, porque si bien recordaba Code Geass como un muy buen anime, esta segunda vuelta me ha hecho valorarlo mucho más. De entrada hay que destacar que soy cero fan del género mecha, l…
