Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou
Miyazawa Yukino is the perfect student. Kind, intelligent, pretty and modest, it's unbelievable that such a person could exist. Little did everyone know Yukino's perfection was just a facade. An act to fulfill her desire for praise and admiration. Her life took a turn however, as a newcomer to their school Arima Soichiro topped the exam rankings. Arima is more than just intelligent, he's also kind, handsome and modest, an unbelievable person who can actually exist. Even worse luck, Arima found out Yukino's secret, blackmailing her to help him out. Their odd relationship soon develops into friendship and eventually into love. But can their love prevail through the many problems that come their way?

Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou/Kare Kano/His & Her Circumstances is a romantic comedy slice of life anime originally written as a manga by Masami Tsuda. Which was then adapted by studio Gainax & directed by Hideaki Anno of Evangelion fame. Kare Kano is a rather divisive anime on MAL (and in general), it ha…

Read full review on AniList →Kare Kano is an incredibly fascinating show, from a production standpoint it's a joy to watch to as creators and directors are given a playground to express themselves. It shows the beauty of what limited animation can achieve with ingenuity and creativity. Within that framework, it manages to explo…

Read full review on AniList →His and Her Circumstances (or how I like to refer to it, Kare Kano) in a lot of ways might just be the most unabashedly "Gainax" thing Anno has ever directed. What starts off as a fairly straightforward and simple school romcom anime with a quirky edge, slowly but surely drifts off into one of the m…
Read full review on AniList →Is Kare Kano worth watching? _There are 2 points of criticism about the show that I've seen expressed more than others, and often neither of them is explained thoroughly._ The first one is that the show, particularly its __animation, suffered because of the budget constraints__. And the second is th…

Read full review on AniList →Kare Kano often seem barely held together as a production, fairly unstructured in its presentation of events due to frequent changes in staff and style, and hence it seems appropriate to give my fairly broad, unstructured thoughts on the series as a whole. Read full review on AniList →KareKano was a really interesting experience for me. I can talk about the emotional moments of personal growth that left an impact on me as Shirō Sagisu's beautiful ost and Hideaki Anno's creative visual style swept me away in the pure shojo feels. It could even be an anime you quite enjoy, but you know that if there was less of one thing and/or more of another, it could be even better. Read full review on AniList →Ésta es una historia un poco triste, no una tragedia, pero sí la típica que, aunque linda, te deja un ligero sabor amargo, esa sensación de que pudo ser mucho más.
